I guess my comment about a wheelgun is the fact a lot of people are reading this forum who don't have a gun and are lookiing for something for self defense. for $500.00 I can buy two 38/357 wheel guns that work easily for a untrained operator. My main thing for someone who didn't have a carry gun would be to practice drawing the gun and bringing it to bear.....this can take just as long with a 22 round clip fed as with a 6 shot revolver. Kind of like grenades....the quick and the dead. First person experience proves that unwanted bipeds take notice of the noise and muzzle blast of a short barrel 357.

The local SWAT team raided a nearby house about 30 minutes ago (truly).  I don't know what they were looking for, but I think the people were not home.  I initially heard a loud "bang" that might have been a flashbang grenade.  I though at first it was a large caliber gunshot someplace outside.  The SWAT guys later left apparently without any prisoners.  I did see them dressed with typical black-colored SWAT garb each armed with what looked like an AR-15 or M-16.

It made me think about the importance of having a gun at home for self-defense.  What if a desperate person they were looking for crashed through my window looking for a hostage??

p.s. I don't live in a 'bad' area either.  Pretty much middle class suburban here.

Prepare for home invasion robbery and that should not be a problem for you I wouldn't think.
