Watched the videos.  Good intro although I was thinking b4 I saw it that it would related to more perishable things than just grains.  So (excuse the pun) where are the bean spillers on the secrets of preserving this type of stuff...

That's exactly what I did for Y2K. Printing out only what is pertinent for one's situation. Define the binder into sections (food, water, gardening,animals, sanitation, etc.) and it's a no-brainer.

Have folks considered relying on rain collection systems for water?  Depending on your area and the legal ramifications - if there are any under duress - this may be viable at least in part.  My entire country relies on rainwater but we have very little by way of heavy industry although vehicles spew out enough fumes to somewhat contaminate roofs etc.  As such, water is thankfully the last of my concerns.
