Any problems with performance?
« on: November 16, 2008, 06:48:09 PM »
One of our members is getting SQL errors. I've not had any problems, so I am unaware of what it might be. Keep me informed of performance problems--server timeouts, down-time, whatever.

Everything seems perfect to me.

No problems here.

I think I've figured out the problem - my IP may be blocked.  I'm not able to log in from any computer in my house - I have three - running two different brands of firewall.  However, tonight I went through an Anonomyzer and was able to log in with no problems.

I'll have a look. I don't recall blocking any IPs.

Given that we've been discussing it by e-mail, I didn't think it was intentional.  :think005:

You may not have done, but it might have happened downstream somewhere.

Rusty, could it be something in the firewall or your ISP?

Rusty, could it be something in the firewall or your ISP?

I started out thinking it might be my firewall.  I have three computers, running two different firewalls.  None can access the site.

I then thought it might be my router.  I checked it last night and nothing is blocked.

I don't know about the ISP, but have no idea how to check or what it would be.

What leads me to believe that I'm blocked someplace is that I'm on a couple of sites that ban access for troublesome posters.  They do this by blocking their IP.  Some of these posters will use an anonomyzer to circumvent the ban.  I accessed an anonomyzer to test it and found I suddenly have access - through the anonomyzer.  I've had several e-mails with Atash discussing the problem, and he's never mentioned that I got banned, so I'm guessing I didn't.  :laughing002:

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not really a computer person. I get on them and kind of expect them to work.  Solving tech problems is usually hit or miss for me.

Have you been banned from another site that might be hosted by the same company as this one?

Not that I'm aware of.  I'm generally not the kind of guy who gets banned.  Just warned.  A lot.  :gen002:

I only post on about 3 or 4 sites, and only one of those with an regularity.

Welcome back.

This last absence was because I got busy and was out of town for a few days.  I'm using an anonomyzer to access the site.

Just an update.  I'm in a hotel right now and I can access the website with no problems without using the anonomyzer.  So I'm guessing they've got my IP blocked for some reason.
