but went for the aluminum chloride and then filter out the result for higher reliability of the filter.

you mean activated alumina.

reverse osmosis or anion exchange work about as well. Still you do need fluoride for your teeth, just spit it back out.
Why would you drink city water? just use that for bathing, washing dishes etc and drink pure water instead which is
magnitudes of water less to purify.................

my teeth seem not to need fluoride, I have been free of it for 6 years now and the dentist has commented on how much better my teeth are now,
(I did not tell him what I did to fix them)
the studies I have read that http://www.fluoridealert.org/ linked to seemed to show that teeth don't need it...

you are right, I looked and my filter does use activated alumina,
but then I do a batch removal of fluoride, I use aluminum chloride or aluminum sulfate
then add some Ca(OH)2 mix it well, let it settle, then filter the water with a britta filter or something like that

my reverse osmosis filter was getting contaminated with bacteria all the time, so it was annoying,
I liked the RO water better for it's taste, but that filter had to much required maintenance

These are just my personal opinions. Not to be confused with facts.
I personaly don't choose to shower or bath in chlorinated water. Chlorine is there to kill off the other contaminates from the water source and crud that grows in  the old municipal water systems. I use a little tea tree oil for my teeth rather than industrial waste sourced flouride. We have our own well, another plus to living in montana where there isn't the intensive manufacturing or agri buisness polution......just a lot of old mine polution and guiardia (beaver disease) in the surface water.
Gotta learn how to knit socks and mittens if you want to survive in montana.
