Don't leave plastic buckets directly on concrete
« on: October 27, 2008, 02:17:08 PM »
Here's one of those little details that waits for just the right time to jump out of the bushes and kneecap somebody. Keep something between the plastic buckets and the concrete, otherwise the small amount of acid in the concrete will attack the plastic over the course of years. A good way is to put the buckets on a pallet, or, a piece of carpet would work, just something to keep the buckets off of the concrete.

There isn't much of anything you should leave dierectly on concrete. Acid is one problem, but it's also one hell of a moisture wick.

Exactly how does one kneecap another?   :think004:

It's easy, just take a suitably sized club such as a piece of 2x4 or a baseball bat and then approach an unsuspecting victim and stike them in the knee making sure that the impact drives the knee backwards, opposite the lever action of the joint.

or use the broken off axe handle that you have not filed down yet to be reused as a shorter axe handle.

Rebar works in a pinch too.

I do not like carpet because it holds the moisture and makes a great insect and spider habitat.
For those of you who are not mildly phobic of insects and spiders this may not be an issue.

Good point about the carpet. My basement has always been dry so I didn't think of it.

I dunno Skip, if a knife attacker is within 21 feet of you, there is very little chance of you getting that gun out in time. Best to run away from the knife fight or at least gain enough time/distance to draw.
