2 gold coins
« on: June 04, 2011, 10:52:35 PM »

if this post isnt ok within the forum, feel free to remove it.

that said I have 2 gold coins for sale. .48375 AGW for a melt of 746.14 each coin. they are $10 gold commemorative coins made by the US mint, to the same specs as the old pree 33 gold coins. In the gold old days a $10 coin was known as an eagle. ($5 was half eagle, and $20 a double eagle)

here is the coin i am talking about. http://moderncommemoratives.com/1984-olympic-gold-ten-dollar/

I have two of them. 1984-W Uncirculated and 1984-S Proof both mintages of 48k. At this point this is meaningless. I personally feel though that these will someday command the same premium over spot a 1/2 oz AGE would. Perhaps Im dead wrong because besides a few key ones this certainly isnt true now. that would be a pretty low mintage for a 1/2 AGE...

I would sell these for 750 each, plus 6 for shipping. So 756 for one or 1506 for both. With delivery confirmation.

http://www.apmex.com/Product/9580/1000_Gold_US_Mint_Commemorative_Coins___AGW_4838.aspx  apmex wants 757 plus shipping. I can often find junk silver and gold commemoratives for at or below spot. For anyone interested......

If this post is out of line delete it. Payment would be by money order or check. there is more to if this sells, and someones interested... But I want to sell these first. (ive got some $5 coins to... these are half the size and .24187 AGW, but need to sell these others first)

i also have some of these .24185 $5 gold coins as well. Price is 376 plus $6 shipping. Im not aware of a cheaper way to buy gold.... Im selling these lower then apmex, and its the lowest premium they appear to have on any gold.

Again sorry if this is out of line for the forum. I wasnt sure so i posted it.... If selling things is frowned on here, erase it.

I think it would be a good idea to start a section just for selling stuff. I rather sell stuff to people here then anywhere else. What do you think Atash?

Silverseeds I pm you.

I hadn't thought of this until Hancocs brought it up. But yea, I second the motion. Atash, can you set up a for sale/want to buy area? I forward the motion that this new board be called "Barter Town" in honor of Mad Max..."Break a deal, face the wheel".

Are you asking for anything .999 pure or nickel?  a few people on the metal forum Im on deal specifically in canadian nickel if thats what you meant. Canadian nickel, meaning the old canadian nickels which are .999 pure. I could give you a link to that forum and the members who have it if thats what your after.

If you just meant .999 silver or gold, I only get them sparingly. Its usually junk 90% or the 90% gold commemoratives I have listed here for gold that I can get for prices I can profit a small amount from. I can almost always get 90% silver for under melt(usually 1X face under melt with a bit of profit for me), and the gold for right at or just above..... If I dont have anything listed at the time and your looking feel free to ask me I might be able to get it.

9N   means 90-100%

99N means 99-100%

999N means 99.9-100%

9999N means 99.99-100%

a measure of purity

Platinum?

i can look for platinum, but Im guessing i couldnt do it any better then you can find elsewhere. Lots of folks on the metals forum i was talking about sell .999 nickel and .95 copper. canadian copper might be .999 to actually. I think the canadian .999 stuff goes for spot, and the american .95 copper goes for well under spot. Like 150-160 for $100 face of copper pennies.(cheaper if a member happens to be local for you) the copper being worth much more then 160.

For my part I happened to of found a niche for junk silver. for those not voiced in the topic the old 90% silver american coinage is called "junk" silver.

Sometimes i have 999N silver, at a good price. Probably wont with gold, as the commemoratives like i listed here are the only gold Ive found at such prices.

Would the 999N be suitable for medical puposes such as the various silver solutions a person can make?
I have worked on 4 wheelers of people who claim they can find  a ounce of gold on a good weekend in the streams around here.

I think most people say they use 9999N. Buffaloes and eagles I believe are 9999N but the older ones 99N or less

but I know nothing of colloidal for medical and would argue against it

Yes you need 999N or better silver for colloidal silver and the like. the best you can get preferably. The candian maples leafs one ounce rounds are 9999N by the way. You can also get silver wire, but if you do and are intending to use it for such things, get it from a reputable wholesaler. Because colloidal silver not made from 999N or better silver can end up dangerous.

an ounce a week in streams???  that is huge actually if true. id look into it if it were me.

Thank you for asking Silverseeds. I wasn't ignoring you; I was out for a few days.

I have faith in your good judgment and character, and that of everybody who posts whom I know personally. The problem would be potential for liability (as in, MY liability) and loss of reputation. If there is truly strong demand for sales and trades (giveaways, etc), I would at the least need to post some at-your-own-risk disclaimers, add something to the terms of use, and get everybody to agree to the change of the terms-of-use (hmm, that could be daunting).
