Thanks Larry, I'll check it out.

It's on my favorites menu.

LarryG,

Thank you for this post. I have my own list that is very similar to this. I made my own list because I had not found any really good lists out there that cover almost everything you may need.
This is a great list. I thought my medical stock was a little excessive. After reading this list, I realize that I may need to get a few more items.  :laughing002:

Thank you again.

You are quite welcome. I'm glad that I can provide this information for all who want it. Usually I only post when I have something of value to offer, and then try to keep it as concise as possible. On that note, you may want to check back on the website once in awhile for updates, or God forbid, my having raised the pandemic threat level indicator to 4 or higher.

Here are a handful of links that I have not had time to add just yet, but will shortly:

Thanks Larry,

I followed that handpump link from anohter link on your page earlier today.  I have a question for the group.  The hand pump plans won't work for me as my well pump sits at 600' right now and that one is good for at most 75'.  I tried to contact the guy who designed it but the email listed on the page is old or something.  The email I sent bounced back.  So my question is, does anyone know of a way to get water from a well that is 600' deep?

BTW Larry, you and I still need to get together someday, being the only two  forum members in CO that I know of.

For a really deep well you should go with an airlift pump, we used them in Saudi Arabia to depths of 1300 feet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airlift_pump

We best get together soon. While I am keeping a nervous eye on Asia, I am pre-positioning all of my prep supplies; to be ready to load into a truck & trailer for an immediate 'bug-out' when the time comes.

So the airlift pump requires electricity too, right?

What is happening in Asia to make you nervous?  I must have missed something.

I have friends with an off the grid year round cabin who have a 850 ft well. They found a solar powered pump that would work but opted for a line voltage pump and a 6KW generator. We are preping up here in montana by having stay inplace , pickup and camper, old subaru station wagon and/or backpacks all equiped with "stuff". Bill Deal says there will be a dirty nuke most likely in LA but if seattle/portland gets hit we are planing for that as well.
Gotta learn how to knit socks and mittens if you want to survive in montana.

The airlift pump does require electricity AND an air compressor of considerable volume,  but I'm wondering about one thing. You said your well is 600' deep, is this the drilled depth or the water level depth? If it's the drilled depth, your water level should be considerably shallower (nearer the surface).

It might be a good idea to locate another source of water (lake, river, roof catchment) to use as a back-up in case the grid fails.

As far as being nervous about Asia; over the last few weeks there have been reports of rapid H2H2H transmission of H5N1, with multiple fatalities in Indo, China et al. The northern hemisphere is in prime flu season, there has been documented cases of species jumps, multiple segregated outbreak locations, and last but certainly not least is the lack of transparent reporting of suspected or confirmed cases by certain governments.

All these factors combined means that there may be a wider swath of infection and/or fatalities in Asia than we actually are aware of. The simple fact that some governments are withholding information means to me that when a pandemic finally does break loose, we will have VERY little advance warning and the window of opportunity to react will be quite small. By the time WHO declares a threat level of 4, in reality we will likely be at 5, possibly 6.

My own personal 'trigger' of events that will start the bug-out of my family will be reported clusters > 7 to 10 in separate locations involving a few dozen people, unusual mobilization of resources overseas by governments (troops, health care workers, quarantines). All this means that I have to pay very close attention to multiple daily news sources and NOT rely strictly on the WHO pandemic threat level which is still at phase 3.

Boy, that was sure a long winded answer!

This morning: Yet another case in Indonesia reported this day

These are the sources I gather my information from, in case you want to bookmark them for your own references:

One last personal observation. The world is paying attention to so many other issues other than pandemic flu (new president, middle east tensions, poor economy ect.) and when a pandemic starts, I'm afraid this planet will be severely 'blind-sided' by the event. When it finally does occur, I think the population will react rather poorly to the news.

I have added a lot of survival & preparedness information on my website http://www.drum-runners.com in case anyone may be interested.

Folks, as of today my website will no longer be updated for the foreseeable future. I am executing my pandemic plan this week and will be evacuating my family from the metro Denver area and relocating us to a rural Iowa setting. The website will remain up for you to download and print whatever documents you need. Cheers!

Thanks for all of your well wishes, Rest assured that as soon as possible, once we are secure in our remote location, I will reactivate my website for you and let you all know. In the meantime, please, if you have not downloaded the information that is there online on my website that is of value to you; do so as soon as possible. I am evacuating my family now for a reason; I believe it will be only a very short time until a highly pathogenic H5N1 pandemic materializes here in the United States. If I am wrong about the timing, I will be extremely grateful that we all have a little extra time to prepare. However, whether sooner or later, it is coming; thus I have decided to put my family's pandemic evacuation plan into action rather than wait.

Some people have told me that they think I am over-reacting, and that is their opinion. I think that I am cutting it a bit too close, and when it comes to my family's survival, my opinion is the only one that counts.

I will be checking my email on a constant basis, although the contact link was removed from my site. If I can advise or help you in any way, please drop me an email at: coinsets2001@yahoo.com

Everybody, take care and may God bless you all.
