Is this a record?

I'm wondering if Zimbabwe has exceeded Weimar Germany or Hungary.

"While our case has been aggravated by the illegal sanctions imposed by the Western powers, rising food prices are a world phenomenon because of the use of bio-fuel," said Samuel Mumbengegwi. "But we will continue to fight inflation by making sure that prices charged are realistic."

The editors failed to challenge these assertions so I will: Zimbabwe is in fact receiving AID--and it certainly shouldn't. So contrary to the notion that the "Western powers" are to blame for Zimbabwean hyperinflation, the Zimbabweans themselves are totally to blame.

What do they produce to pay for their meals? Anything? With, what, unemployment around 80% or so?

It is a vicious circle: their economy continues to break down because the money has broken down. Without money, 3rd party exchange is not possible, and therefor division of labor breaks down. But the process started when people who aren't farmers and have zero experience farming took over farms, and then were surprised when the crops didn't magically grow themselves, all without needing to pay for seed and fertilizer, which they had the nerve to demand for free.

We're running out of petroleum. Are you ready?
